The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs are partnering with Pathfinder Services of ND on July 14th! Bring the family to enjoy a great game of baseball and help support Pathfinder.

For every $7 general admission ticket bought online for that day's game with the promo code, 'PATHFINDER', they will donate $3 to Pathfinder Services of ND. In addition, you can take part in the raffle by purchasing tickets, and a portion of the proceeds will go to support Pathfinder.

Disability Discrimination

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination based on disability in any program or activity operated by recipients of federal funds. Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibits discrimination based on disability by public entities, regardless of whether they receive federal financial assistance.

This U.S. Department of Education site offers overviews of both regulations, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page and additional resources.

Developmental Screening Passport

Regular screenings help raise awareness of your child's development, making it easier to celebrate milestones and identify possible developmental concerns as early as possible. With early and regular screening, you can make sure that your child gets the services and support they need to thrive. Use the Developmental Screening Passport to track your child's screening history and share results with providers.

Assistive Technology and the IEP - Tips for Parents

Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), public schools must provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to all eligible children with disabilities. To do so, schools are required to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that identify the child's educational goals and needs, including the need for accommodations and/or assistive technology (AT) devices and services. This fact sheet from the Center on Technology and Disability (CTD) gives tips on the basic steps parents can take to ensure an appropriate educational experience for their child.
