Community Cafe

Project Website

Pathfinder Services of ND hosts and facilitates community cafés throughout the state to bring individuals together for a common purpose.

Our Community Cafés approach brings an environment that allows a network of collaborative dialogue. In turn this sparks leadership to build relationships, enabling individuals to see new ways to make a difference within their communities.

A Pathway to Partnerships

1) Purpose

Bringing people together, introducing and strengthening partnerships between community members, school staff, and families.

2) Environment

Offering an equal opportunity for all individuals to share and express themselves. When people feel comfortable to be themselves, they do their most creative thinking, speaking, and listening.

3) You Matter

Each community member, school staff, and family member matter. This concept instills the confidence participants need to steward and advocate for the success of all children.

4) Collaborative Dialogue

Meeting new people, actively contributing thoughts, listening to other’s and exchanging perspectives, greatly enrich the possibility for successful change.

5) Collective Discoveries

Creating a summary of the overall discussions and viewpoints of the group. Identifying the essential areas for forward change.

Parent Training and Information Center (PTI)

Parent Training and Information Center (PTI)

Pathfinder Services of ND is the Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) for the state of North Dakota.

Experienced Parent Program

Experienced Parent Program

The Experienced Parent Program provides emotional support and information to families of children birth to 3 years of age with developmental disabilities, delays, and ongoing health care needs.

Parents Matter

Parents Matter

Parents, family members and guardians are a child’s first teachers. They instill the foundational values, habits and attitudes their children need to succeed in school and in life. Schools must communicate effectively to parents the pivotal role that they play in their child’s education. Parent nights, group emails and a list of resources may increase involvement, but they do not promote engagement, and certainly do not create a partnership. Schools at all levels must foster an enduring partnership between parents, family members, guardians and educators.

North Dakota Secondary Transition Project (NDSTP)

North Dakota Secondary Transition Project (NDSTP)

The purpose of the NDSTP is to serve youth with learning difficulties and their families to realize new transition possibilities. NDSTP provides resources, training and support to youth and families with disabilities on transition to college, post-secondary opportunities and employment. It will also teach how to plan for positive futures, and how to access supports and services after leaving high school.
